Okra (Abelmoschus esculentus) is the only vegetable consumed in the Malvaceae family and is very popular in the Indian subcontinent. A fiber obtained from the thorns is used instead of the juice. It is also used in paper and textile manufacturing. The elevators are approximately 2.4 mm long. When used for paper, the stitches are harvested after harvesting the edible seed shells at the end of the summer or in the autumn.
The roots are very rich in musculation and have a strong calming effect. Some studies have suggested that it is better than Althaea officinalis. It can be used as a plasma substitute. Ethno-medical infusion of the roots is used in the treatment of fringes. The water of the roots is used externally in Nepal to treat cuts, wounds and scratches. The leaves provide a soft leaf. The boiling of unripe capsules is calming, urinating and softening. It is used in the treatment of nasal infections, hot urine, ankle and thigh cold. The seeds are spasm preventive, intimate and warning. An infusion of crushed seeds has sweating properties.
Research has shown that the shell contains important bioactive substances. These include compounds such as carotene, folic acid, thiamine, riboflavin, niacin, vitamin C, oxalic acid and amino acids.
In vitro studies have shown that hibiscus, a component found in many herbal tea mixtures and other beverages, has antioxidant properties, and its extracts used in animal models have hypocholesterolemic and antihypertensive properties. In addition, the extracts obtained from the flowers have wound healing properties.
